What a whirl wind of a week! Level 3 to Level 2 and then back to the hostel, it certainly has been a big few days for all.

Last Friday some of the hostel staff got involved with Formal Friday again. This time they decided to have a theme, which was 'the decades'. There were a range of outfits, with Mrs and Mr Rust going above and beyond. Check out their Otago Boys uniforms, with hats from 1927 and 2017 - even sitting outside the school!

On Monday we heard from Kiana Pelasio, who plays for the Southern Steel. She gave us our last lockdown challenge, which was a fun 'alphabet' workout that we could all get involved with! It was great hearing from a range of different people throughout this time, providing us with motivation and ideas for our own mini workouts! Check out the challenge below if you are interested in attempting it

Various 'bubbles' were treated to delicious meals and sweet treats throughout lockdown, thanks to the keen cooks! Mrs Rathbone and Stella made a delicious Mushroom and Lamb Ragout Pappardelle. She even recorded the recipe, which we have attached below if you want to give it a go!

We have received all of the entries for the Tasty Twins baking competition. The winner will be selected early next week, so we are looking forward to presenting the winning prize - their awesome new book!

It was great to see such engagement from all of the girls over the lockdown period. We loved seeing what you had been up to, from exercise with pets, cooking/baking, crafts and even working on the farm. Thanks to everyone who sent photos through - there are a few spot prizes for photos coming next week also

We loved welcoming everyone back on Wednesday. Steve and the cleaning staff were busy preparing for the girls arrival, while Jodie and her team sorted through the freezers, sanitised the space down and planned for what hostel life would look like in the kitchen. It was great to see all of the smiley faces return throughout the afternoon, with everyone adapting to new rules and regulations with ease!

We continued on as usual, with prep and Yoga resuming on Thursday evening. There are a few events and dates which have been changed, which the girls can view on the new calendar in the main office. We are hoping for another alert level change to host our famous social in the upcoming weeks - or early Term 4!

This weekend the juniors are heading off to laser tag, which is always a highlight in the activity calendar! We are excited to have some sort of normality again and appreciate your patience and understanding of changes during this time.

Parents, please remember to complete your daughters wellness declaration if she has been on weekend or overnight leave. This is essential and must be submitted before her return to the hostel. Thank you for your cooperation.

We hope you all have a wonderful weekend, with the flexibility of being able to enjoy a meal out, pop into the shops, attend appointments or perhaps even head to the gym! It is all of the little things that can bring such joy  Take care and be kind to one another
