Tolcarne News

It has been a quieter week at Tolcarne, with the seniors on study leave and Year 10's at camp. However there has still been plenty of excitement, with lots of swimming in the pool and the 2021 Year 9 girls coming for their sleepover!

Last weekend we headed to Waihola with the Year 9's, finishing off their Koru unit with a special camp. Here we were lucky enough to go ziplining through the forest, try out paint balling, attempt the team confidence course, use the waterslide (turned mudslide!) and take part in Robyn's games and final Koru session. The night ended with an evening of reflection and gratitude, taking the time to point out what we were most grateful for with our peers.

We had an amazing time and it was a lovely chance for everyone to spend some more time together. Take a look at the photos below to see everything we got up to!

On Friday night the Year 10 girls headed off on their mystery bus trip... The bus picked them up from the hostel and they headed out to the beach for fish and chips in the sunshine! It sounded like they had a blast

Last night we welcomed our 2021 Year 9 students for dinner and a sleepover. There were 32 smiling faces, all excited to meet their new friends and see what life as a 'Tolcarne girl' was going to look like! We had very excited juniors, being perfect tour guides and presenting each new girl with a note to welcome them. After dinner we played lots of games and the girls got to know each other a little more. We are already excited to welcome them back in 2021!

Best of luck to our senior girls who are starting their NCEA exams. We are thinking of you all - there isn't long to go! Have a great weekend, hopefully with some sunshine
