Tolcarne News

Kia ora Tolcarne whanau. It was great to have the Year 10s back this week and we loved hearing their stories from the week away at Tautuku. It sounds like they had a fantastic time, with plenty of laughs, challenges and memories made.

On Tuesday we headed to Rob Roy for an ice cream. From real fruit options, to cookie dough, soft serve and huge classic flavours, they have it all! We would highly recommend paying them a visit if you are ever wanting a generous sized ice cream on a hot day

Wednesday evening came around and it was time to farewell Sophie Dempster. Sophie is an Old Girl who has worked for us over the past three years. The juniors put together a delicious supper, where Lola and Xanthe thanked Sophie on behalf of everyone. We also farewelled Maddy last week, who is heading up to Christchurch to start work as a pharmacist! We're going to miss their friendly faces and positive energy around the place, but we are excited for the many adventures they have ahead

The remainder of the week was a bit quieter, with exams in full swing for our senior students. We are thinking of everyone during exam time, not long to go now

This morning the staff celebrated Reany for her Birthday! A delicious morning tea celebration, complete with an impressive looking cake

Tonight some of our school and hostel staff are off to the Business South Awards. Tolcarne is a finalist for the Business Integrity Award in 2022. We are looking forward to finding out the results tonight, however either way we feel very proud to have been named as a finalist!

Have a fabulous weekend everyone. We hope you all enjoy the extra day off on Monday - what a bonus! See you back next week - Ma tē wā
