November Sports Update

Rowing:

Our rowing squad had their first regatta over the weekend. Despite the rain they managed to row both Saturday and Sunday. Our rowers, row for both SHCS and the NERC rowing club (red & black). This year we have 31 students learning to row, which is fantastic!

Volleyball:

Last weekend, our Junior A Volleyball team competed in the Otago Junior Volleyball Champs here in Dunedin. The results are as follows;

Day One: OGHS 9A 2-0, Kavanagh 2-0, Columba 0-2

Day Two: Taieri 2-0, Semi final 1-2 Bayfield, 3rd/4th vs Queens 0-2. 

Well done to the team and our coach Taine. Some close margins on day two! Congratulations to Mya Haigh, who was named in the weekend's tournament team.

Uniform Return:

Please return any sport uniforms that are not being used. It is important that we can get it all back, to stocktake for 2022! 

Coach/Managers for 2022:

It is time to start looking forward to what 2022 may bring. We are seeking passionate coaches and managers for our teams next year. In particular we a looking for:

  • Hockey First XI Co - Coach
  • Volleyball Coach in both Senior and Junior Levels
  • Netball coaches and managers in year 7-10 level
  • Futsal
  • Rugby
