Pink Shirt Day at St Hilda's

Today is Pink Shirt Day Pink Shirt Day is celebrated globally, after two Canadian students took a stand against homophobic bullying in 2007 (after a peer was bullied for wearing a pink shirt).

Bullying is an issue throughout the world, in workplaces, schools and communities. The prefect team and QSA organised for the school to come dressed in pink this morning, donating collected money to the Mental Health Foundation. Funds raised will go towards helping to raise awareness around bullying prevention and will create resources that promote inclusivity throughout schools and wider communities. The QSA also held a lunchtime craft session, making posters, flags and creating chalk art for the upcoming Pride Month.

At St Hilda’s and Tolcarne we want every girl to feel safe, valued and respected to be themselves. Diversity is something we celebrate, with each student bringing their own unique talents and personality to our school  Have a lovely Friday and be the reason someone smiles today - spread those positive vibes!
