St Hilda's Collegiate School

Te Karaka Manu - Term 1 Week 4

Kia Ora parents and whānau

It has been another busy week for our students and staff as we all settle into the academic year.

The weather this week has been changeable but it was lovely to be able to celebrate Shrove Tuesday with pikelets and cream followed by games on the lower field in warm sunshine. Certainly a contrast to the next few days. It was special to be able to have our Ash Wednesday service as a whole school.

Unfortunately the weather was not suitable for our Athletic Sports, which we will now hold on the 7th March.

Judith Turner is moving to a new opportunity teaching at the University of Otago Pathways programme. She will be taking up this position later this term. We will be very sorry to see her go but wish her all the best for her new job. We are very grateful for the huge contribution she has made to St Hilda's over the years.

Our PE and Outdoor Ed classes are heading to the Abel Tasman National Park, where I am sure they will have some very rich learning experiences.

I hope you all have a lovely weekend.

Judy Maw
