St Hilda's Collegiate School

Dear Parents and Caregivers,

It is hard to believe that the year is nearing to a close, and that this term has gone so quickly.

2022 is likely to be challenging in different ways and while we are looking forward to sharing our Junior Prizegiving with you via live stream, we are also thinking ahead to the logistics and processes required for next year. Keeping our students and staff safe, engaged in learning and able to contribute to the wider life of the school is central to all our planning. It is hard to predict what next year will look like, and we thank you for your patience and understanding as we adapt to the environment and circumstances. I am conscious of the toll the uncertainty has taken on staff as they have planned, postponed, replanned so many events and school activities, always working to find the best solution for difficult circumstances and to ensure our students miss out on as little as possible.

A statement received today from School Sports NZ making it mandatory for students who take part in Term 1 2022 NZSS sanctioned sports and events to be vaccinated, will add another layer of complexity to our planning for next year, as does the DCC requirements for their facilities. We are yet to fully understand what that will mean for all schools, local sport and our students, however I can assure you that student wellbeing, safety and inclusion are forefront in our minds.

We look forward to sharing our final week with you all - even if it is remotely, and I thank you for your messages of encouragement and support.

Nga mihi nui
