Tolcarne News

Kia ora Tolcarne whānau. It was a quiet weekend, with most students heading home for an extended long weekend. We welcomed everyone back on Tuesday night, all recharged after enjoying an extra few days at home.

Robyn, Mrs Rathbone, Mrs Maw, Charlotte Mavor and Mya Aitken have been away on Country Visits this week. They have been visiting areas around Central Otago and Southland, sharing more about life at Tolcarne. It sounds like they had a great few days away, enjoying meeting many new faces and catching up with current families

Meg baked with some of the juniors on Tuesday, where they created a s'mores baked cookie sort of situation... The result was a sticky, sweet treat, which everyone loved!

On Wednesday afternoon we made Mother's Day cards for the special Mother figures in our lives. This was a lovely chance to reflect on who we wanted to celebrate, remembering that there are a variety of people who act as 'mothers' in our lives. Each card was unique, decorated in all sorts of colour and sparkles, with special words on the inside

We finished our Life Maps in Year 9 Koru this week, adding the final touches to personalise each design. Robyn and I look forward to seeing these presented in the upcoming weeks, learning more about each student, significant events in their lives and hopes/dreams for the future!
