Year 8 Aston Awards 2022

The Year 8 Aston Award consists of five components - service, performance, outdoors, creative and academic. It is designed to be challenging across a range of contexts, that requires a level of responsibility and independence that highlights the capability of our students. In order to achieve this award, the students must be dedicated and work hard, give up their own time and offer their skills in endeavours both within our school community and in the wider community.

The Aston Award has been named after the first ever dux at St Hilda's – Kathleen Daisy Aston – who was dux in 1896 and 1897.

It has been exciting hearing about the variety of activities these Year 8 students have been involved in over the past six months as they completed the five components. They have generously given at least 15 hours of service to school and people in the community, and have also gained new skills, often taught by their grandparents, parents or peers.

Congratulations to the students who have achieved this award:

Evelyn Barkman, Aija Battrick, Cleo Black, Lily Cuthbertson, Molly Luxton, Kate Moyle, Rhea Pradeep, Sophie Wagner, Charlotte Watkins and Bonnie Wilson
