Board of Trustees Report

What a pleasure and relief to finish the school year without having to navigate the disruptions encountered during the first three terms. The first few of this last term were extremely busy for the school with internals, school camps, Blues Awards, St Hilda's Day, NCEA external exams and other events.

The Board met with the School's Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to undertake strategic planning for 2023 and beyond. In particular, we focused on the Ministry of Education's new National Education Learning Priorities, which the School will be looking to report on in 2023. The SLT will be undertaking a great deal of work ahead of the transition to this new reporting system and they are already well advanced in their planning.

As already communicated, our Principal Mrs Barron, will be seconded to the Ministry of Education for the 2023 school year and in her absence, Mrs Judy Maw will be the Acting Principal.

The School faced many challenges this year with the disruptions posed by Covid, yet the planning done back in January ensured that the School was ready to respond quickly and positively to each series of events. At each stage, the focus was always on maintaining the best outcome for the students' learning needs. The experience gained from this past year will only stand the School in good stead for any future challenges.

I am sure that the whole school community is looking forward to some relaxing time with family and friends over the summer period. On behalf of the School's Board of Trustees, I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
