Another week down for our girls! Things have been slightly different at Tolcarne this week, with Seniors starting study leave for their benchmark exams and Robyn, Ziggy and Ange being away.
We are thinking of our senior girls who are completing their exams over the next week. They have been hard at work and studying away, however it looks like they are enjoying the perks of exam leave too - first in for afternoon tea and hot lunch everyday!
This year the National Boarding Schools Conference was held in Queenstown, with Ange, Robyn and Ziggy all attending. They have had a lovely week hearing from a range of speakers - including Robyn and Ange who gave a presentation to the group on our wellbeing programme - Koru. We are looking forward to having them all back today, athough we did have a new matron around last night who looked slightly familiar... Mrs Barron came to Tolcarne and worked for the night - we think she passed the test!
Last weekend the Year 9 girls headed to Laser Tag for their activity. They had a few games all in fierce competition! This is a nice way to burn off some energy in the weekend.
Our other Year 9 girls planned a picnic in the gardens. They put in some money to buy hot chicken and buns for lunch, planning a route down to the Botanic Gardens and organising a game similar to a photo treasure hunt! This was such a great idea which was inclusive of all. Everyone involved had a blast and it was nice to see the girls heading to a new area of Dunedin they hadn't been before!
We are getting excited for the ski trip next weekend, especially after hearing about the new snow! The gear list has been sent out to all attending, so remember to get organised before we leave next Friday. There has been lots of talk going on about skiing, the snow, who will do the best 'tricks' and of course what treats and snacks are going to be packed Woohoo bring on next Friday
It has been the longest term we have all stayed at Tolcarne for this year, so remember to be kind to one another and keep the positivity flowing! Have an amazing weekend
