Athletics NZ Cross Country Club Challenge

At the end of last month (29th of August) the Athletics NZ Cross Country Club Challenge was held at Chisholm Park Golf Course. In attendance were clubs from all over New Zealand, excluding Auckland due to Covid-19 restrictions.

St Hilda's had a strong representation at the event, with positive results on the day. In the U16 Girls 4km race, Zara Geddes (Hill City) placed 2nd in a time of 16:02, this backed up her strong performance from the Secondary Schools event earlier in the month. Also, in the same event was Anna Carswell (Hill City) who placed 10th.

In the U18 Girls 5km race, Megan Foster (Hill City) placed 7th in a time of 20:54.

Old girls of the school were also representing their clubs at this event and they too had success. Rebecca Greene and Olivia Gold were placed 2nd and 10th respectfully in the Open women's event over a 10km distance.

Congratulations to all that competed in this event, all that training has paid off.
