Board of Trustees

As the 2020 school year draws to a close I suspect many of us will feel the desire to let our breath out just a little. While there is still much uncertainty in the world and many of us are not sure what 2021 will bring, at least we have managed our way through the roller coaster that was 2020 and made it to the finish line – phew!

As a Board the challenges of the year have at times weighed heavily. The decisions we are required to make (particularly in uncertain times with no road map) are significant and all of our trustees take their role very seriously. Doing the best for the students, the staff and the wider community is always the benchmark and I want to thank this years trustees for always prioritising those matters in our discussions and decision-making. You are an outstanding group and your contribution to the school is immeasurable. It has been a privilege to work alongside you all.

Thankfully, our meetings are not always filled with difficult moments and weighty decisions. There is usually time for a laugh or two, a celebration of things achieved and the joy of seeing our students achieve in myriad ways. Being on the Board provides a unique view into the school and I would encourage anyone thinking about putting their name forward at some stage to take advantage of the chance to attend a meeting or two as an observer. Other than some parts of the meeting which are “public excluded” all meetings are open to observe and provide a useful insight into the work of the Board. Dates for 2021 will be published on the website and in our newsletters.

Until then – may I extend warm Christmas greetings to you all – and let’s hope that our festive season is a smooth as it can be in a disrupted world.
