Cricket

Cricket at St Hilda’s in Term 3/4 has been a really exciting and enjoyable start to the cricket season for the girls involved. Our XI won the Gillette Venus Regional Competition against Columba for the eleventh year in a row!! A special mention to Chloe Deerness, who was awarded Player Of The Match for incredible bowling figures, taking 4 wickets and a batting effort which saw the girls through! This means the girls will fly up to Palmerston North and compete in the Gillette Venus National Competition from the 11th-13th Dec.

The Year 7/8 team has been working hard at the Wednesday night competition and improving every week. We also have girls in the rep squads, a huge effort from the Hilda’s Girls!

This term we also had a group of Year 9 boarders that joined Cricket. Most of these girls hadn’t experienced cricket before so it was great to see them give a new sport a go and I hope they enjoyed themselves. With the season coming to an end, players will be looking forward to coming back in Term 1 for more school cricket!
