Parents and Friends Association

The St Hilda’s PFA has finished the year with a focus on providing opportunities for parents to connect with each other and the school. We held a family picnic event just prior to the Christmas Carol Service, unfortunately the weather was unpleasant and this put a few families off joining us. We did however have a very nice time in the library, catching up with each other and enjoying some takeaways. It was a lovely lead up to the family Carol Service in the Chapel – always a beautiful occasion with the gorgeous stained glass nativity scene in the Chapel making the setting so special. The Christmas Cake seemed to go down a treat at the end of the service - many thanks to Jo Stafford and the team at Mosgiel New World for supplying the cake and the refreshments

We have plans in place to host new families at the start of next year with a BBQ at Tolcarne and family takeaways nights for years 7-9.

One of the other highlights of this term has been a visit to the main toilet block with the Principal! Normally this would sound a bit odd, but not when its to view the beautiful decorations on the revamped toilet block funded from money raised at the 2020 St Hilda’ Fair. The upgrade is a huge improvement and makes this a much more welcoming space for girls and visitors alike. We’ve included some photos so you can see just how lovely the loos look!

Next year we are looking forward to helping out with the 125th Anniversary Celebrations at St Hilda’s and creating more opportunities for families to engage in and with the St Hilda’s community. We wish you all a relaxed and much needed summer holiday break!
