Rowing

Liaison Report

This term the St Hilda’s rowing team has had a very successful start to the season, with a hardworking and committed group of girls.

So far this term has consisted of many early 5am trainings and afternoon land work. We are a squad of 16 dedicated rowers and 2 hardworking coxswains. We have had 2 regattas, one at the harbor to get a small taste of what racing is all about, and one on Lake Dunstan down in Clyde, racing harder competition.

All the girls are super excited to head up to Twizel in a week's time where they will start to compete against more schools and clubs over the South Island. The St Hilda’s rowing team also plans to have a couple of training camps over the summer in Twizel and more regattas. All of the girls are very nervous and excited to start getting into the competitive part of the season, we will look forward to hopefully gaining some medals!
