Board of Trustees

I am sure that everyone in our School community is well aware of the challenges that influenza, Covid and isolating have posed these past few months. Suffice to say that, from the School's perspective, the transition to itime/study week mid way through the term was essential in supporting unwell students and staff and taking the pressure off staff and management to staff classes. Taking such pre-emptive action in the middle of a term, with approaching exams/internals, was the correct response to a very difficult situation. School Management continues to focus its planning on such potential situations - recent advice received from the Ministry of Health suggests we may well be faced with a similar situation in August.

Looking forwards, good progress is being made on the Whitby Chapel project, with the Development Working Party shortly being asked to consider an option which would add the maximum value to the Chapel now - an exciting possibility given the recognition that the costs of Stage 2 are extremely high.

With the opening of the borders, the School is very excited to be welcoming a number of new International Students next term, which of course is a positive sign for the School.

At our recent June Board Meeting, we bade farewell to Kate Anderson who has served as a Board of Proprietor Representative on the Board of Trustees for over 5 years. Kate's dedication to School matters is without peer and we were extremely grateful for her thoughtful and loyal service.

If you have not already done so, please buy yourself a ticket to the School PFA Gala Dinner on 6th August - a very enjoyable way to support the School!
