Community Oral Health Service

Kia ora koutou

With Term 1 well under way now, we hope everyone has settled into the swing of busy school life once again.

The Community Oral Health Service provides free dental care from birth until the end of School Year 8 across the Southern Region. From Year 9 onwards until they turn 18, students continue to receive free dental care from a participating Dental Provider in their local area (regardless of whether they remain at school or not). Good oral health is a foundation of overall good health and wellbeing, but for many reasons, some students may not be enrolled with a Dental Provider after the transition into Year 9 to be able to receive the free dental care available to them.
