The dust is settling after a rip roaring start to the year! Students now find themselves feeling increasingly comfortable navigating this new space. With the support of our Library Skills Programme being rolled out via Year 7, 8 and 9 Integrated Studies, students are equipping themselves with the necessary skills for engaging with all that the Library can offer.

Research Support Services are being well utilised across curriculum areas and year groups. Year 10 scientists have experienced success in accessing a wide range of resources via the National Library Collection, whilst Year 13 PE students embark on a research project using reliable online tools like EPIC. The opening of our new space has prompted students and staff alike to consider the myriad of ways the Library could support them in their endeavours.

The Library is starting to feel more like home thanks to each creative touch of our student Librarians! The walls of the Library are plastered with popular book titles shared via peer recommendations, while other displays promote hidden gems put under the spotlight thanks to school wide themes like Lent or International Women’s Day. Our Librarians work hard to keep this place current and dynamic and as always, I am so thankful for their mahi!

In particular, we congratulate Evie Bennison (Year 8) and Sophie King (Year 8) who will be awarded their Librarian badges this week. Evie and Sophie have worked tirelessly, completing a wide range of tasks to ensure the smooth running of the Library. Their ideas and recommendations have regularly fed change for the better, so we are excited to be celebrating their success!
