Sport - Term 2

School Cross Country - Wednesday 3rd May:

Our 2nd school event is happening next Wednesday. The cross country starts on the John McGlashan field, goes through the beautiful Ross Creek and finishes back on the field.  Year 9 -13 will complete a 5km loop and the year 7 & 8s will do a shorter course. All students must complete their course by running what they can or walking if necessary.  Students can wear school PE clothing to school and add house colours at lunch time. Buses will be provided to take students to the field but they must find their own way home at approximately 3.10pm.

Times of races:

Year 11 & Year 13 Curriculum - 2pm

Year 11, 12 & 13 - 2.05pm

Year 7 & 8 - 2.10pm

Year 9 & 10 - 2.12pm

Touch: Congratulations to former SHCS student Gemma Rowcroft, who represented New Zealand in the Women's Open Touch Blacks team in Australia last weekend. A great achievement and fantastic to see all the hard work paying off!

School onsite Physio:

Natalie, our onsite Physio from Roslyn Physio, has returned from her maternity leave. She will be onsite on Tuesday and Thursdays from 9 am -1pm. Students that wish to use this service need to make bookings through the Student Office. This is an invaluable service so please use it. It saves time leaving school for appointments and also assists with communication on rehab and return times to sport.

Orienteering:

Olivia Hollard has been competing in the the Dunedin Orienteering series. She has finished third in her Yr 10 section and is looking forward to competing in Central Otago next weekend.

Unreturned Uniforms:

There are many uniforms and team bags that have not been returned from Term 4 2022 and Term 1 2023. These must be with the Sports Department by next week or charges will be added to accounts. Please check with your child about any uniform. Uniforms and any associated equipment are school property, if items are not returned then others miss out.
