Notification of Proposed Strike Action:

PPTA Te Wehengarua members have voted for another one-day national strike in Term 2 2023.

The national executive has now set the date for this strike as Tuesday the 9th of May 2023.

The strike would begin at 12:01am on 9th May 2023 and end at 11:59pm on 9th May 2023.

The nature of this action will be a continuous withdrawal of all labour on the 9th May 2023. This includes work that would otherwise be undertaken on or off the school site.

If you have a student that requires supervision, please let the school know by Friday the 5th of May on admin@shcs.school.nz

Tolcarne Boarding Residence will remain open. They will be following their normal ‘weekend day’ guidelines and expectations.

This action by members is not undertaken lightly. We hope you understand PPTA Te Wehengarua members’ commitment to continuing to ensure the profession has quality teachers.

Notification of proposed rostering home of year groups:

Further industrial action was agreed upon which included the rostering home of year groups on designated days in Term 2.

Tolcarne Boarding students will be supervised by non-PPTA members and Tolcarne staff. Tolcarne will remain open. All day girls in the designated year groups will be rostered home.
