Tolcarne News

Here we are at the end of Week 9, time certainly flies by! It seems as if we have packed a lot into the days we've been back from lockdown, with next week also being a busy one. Senior bench mark exams start on Monday, with lots of study going on and practice exams attempted - the printer has certainly been getting a workout!!

A group of juniors headed off on a mini van trip with Bex in the weekend. They visited Signal Hill, the beach and Rob Roy  Since there were not many students in for the weekend, it was a great chance for them to get out and explore more of Dunedin!

On Tuesday for our after school activity we opted for a movie afternoon. The weather was far from impressive, with the girls rugged up all cosy in the common room. With the addition of movie snacks, it was a perfect way to spend the rainy afternoon!

In Year 9 Koru on Wednesday we did another session on 'fear'. This time heading outside... blindfolded! The group took on Robyn's 'Night Line' challenge, having to hold hands and be navigated through the course by a group leader. After much speculation of where they may have been, the girls had found their way around the front of Tolcarne, over a pile of bark, through the trees and down the bush track completely blindfolded (with a few added distractions along the way ) This was a fun challenge, with the girls saying at the end they weren't even scared (although the shrieks during it would indicate otherwise!!). Dr Townsley also joined in on this challenge and it was great to have her along with us for the evening!

We are looking forward to heading to Queenstown this afternoon for our annual ski trip. Robyn has been planning meals for the weekend, along with the girls deciding what they are going to get for dinner in town tonight. I have heard lots of Ferg Burger, Cookie Time and ice cream mentioned, so watch this space! Check out the video below to see what we got up to last year.

We hope everyone has a lovely weekend - the last one for Term 3! One last push to the end of the term, we can do it! Please remember to complete the wellness declaration before your daughter/daughters return to Tolcarne, this is essential before they can enter the hostel. Thank you for your continued support and understanding of our Covid-19 procedures.
