Oceans 2020

On Thursday 27th February through to Sunday 1st March, Kyla Ashton, Charlotte Aburn and Jess Hanna represented St Clair and Brighton surf life saving clubs at the Oceans’ 20 premier Surf Life Saving Nationals in Mount Maunganui.

Oceans’ has a proud history of being not only the largest Junior under 14 Surf Life Saving Event in New Zealand, but the most competitive, exciting and fun with 830 competitors from 47 surf clubs across New Zealand participating.

Our girls not only represented their respective clubs with pride but showed how competitive our Otago Surf Life saving talent is on a national scale. All 3 girls participated in 6 events with them largely making top 20 finals. The best results from each of the girls were Jess placing 2nd in beach flags, Charlotte placing 3rd in the run swim run event and Kyla placing 16th in her Surf swim event.

These were incredible results. Well done girls.
