It is hard to believe that there are only three weeks of term left! It is definitely starting to get a lot colder in the morning and evenings now in Dunedin… Brrrr. It was a short week last week with the hostel being closed for Otago Anniversary weekend.

On Tuesday, Year 9 had an Easter cookie decorating competition with Celia, one of our house supervisors. Each student was given three cookies to decorate. Celia made the fondant then the student’s then rolled it out to create their own designs. Well done to Anya Erskine on her cookie creations, don't they look delicious.

Another event to note is the Maadi Cup. Tolcarne had many rowers representing St Hilda’s in the week long competition on Lake Ruataniwha. The students have a big week starting with heats which progressed onto repechages, and semi-finals. The last two days of the regatta are for the A and B finals which is an awesome achievement for those students who made it into these finals.

St Hilda’s had three A finals and five B finals. A huge congratulations to Georgia Graham and Perri Hore for gaining a Bronze medal in the Girls U17 Coxless pair. Fantastic work! I was lucky enough to be able to watch a lot of these students races. It brought back a lot of memories of my rowing days. A huge thank you to their awesome coaches Belinda Colling, Jas McIntosh and Olivia Ollerenshaw.

See you next week for another short week and hope you all enjoyed having your daughters home.
