News from Foods
Last week the Year 11's kicked off their food safety unit identifying hazards in the kitchen, learning basic cutting and chopping skills and about the use of separate boards for specific foods. We made savoury and cinnamon pinwheels, an easy lunchbox treat!
I'm getting some great inspiration and recipe ideas from the Year 12's suggestions! Last week I thoroughly enjoyed Vegan Soba noodles for dinner, thanks to Lucy Hilgeholt-Martyn's recipe suggestion. The recipe link is here and comes highly recommended.
Georgia Marris makes her debut in "News from Foods" (she joined our class at the beginning of the year) with the support of sous-chef Emma Collet, showing off their morning tea (early lunch?).
The Year 13's toyed with chocolate fudge and a vegan alternative. I think the dairy version won this round! Unfortunately all produce was demolished before I could capture the evidence of the cook.
