AFC $10 Challenge Thank you

Last term, despite the huge challenges we faced as a school and as individuals because of Covid, we took on the $10 challenge that Anglican Family Care set for us - to take the generous gift of money that we had been given, and to use our talents and resources to turn it into something which would benefit others in our community. We raised over $2800 which was fantastic and this will go towards refurbishing their client waiting area, including storage space and some toys for children to play with as they wait for their appointments. In chapel-assembly last week we presented Sarah Thornton from AFC with the cheque for this amount, and we also received this email from Mike Williams, the General Manager of AFC.

Thanks so much for the huge effort that went into the $10 challenge - it sounds like the girls did a great job and had some real fun in raising the money (and no teachers were too brutally water bombed in the process!). We are so very fortunate to have the St Hilda’s community supporting our work - it really is very humbling, and I wanted you to know how much it is appreciated. Not just the material aspect, but very much the generosity of spirit. I hope we are able to reciprocate, and I know our kaimahi are always happy to come to the school to present to the girls.
