Tolcarne News

Four days of school was welcomed this week, as we returned after our extended long weekend! We hope you all enjoyed a relaxing few days, although it sounds like many families were busy and had lots of exciting events on

Our Tuesday after school activity for the Year 9 group was a cooking class. We learnt how to make homemade pizza bases, along with the sauce and the technique of rolling and even spinning the bases (as seen in the movies ). Each student was involved in the process, getting to create their own flavours! We had some with stuffed crust, pizza 'rolls' and even one with a face. It was an enjoyable afternoon in the kitchen  Prehaps the girls will cook their new recipe for you next time they're home!

Year 11 Korero with Ross and Ziggy was held on Tuesday evening. Their focus for this session was around defining 'banter', teasing and looking at the tone of voice used within relationships - perhaps unintentionally causing harm. These sessions are a great chance for the girls to share their ideas in a safe space, challenging one another in a supportive way.

Many of the girls have seen the large tent down at the Kensington Oval, indicating that the circus is in town  There was lots of conversation around how getting to attend would be a fun night out, which Bex made happen! A group headed off on Wednesday night with Tammy and Bex, enjoying all sorts of acts and performances. This was a treat for our Wednesday evening, especially with a later bedtime for the younger girls!

Tonight the juniors are heading to the bowls club for a games night with John McGlashan. There is sure to be some fierce competition between the group, along with a lot of socialising!

This weekend is full of sporting games and events, which we wish everyone the best for! With sport/cultural commitments in full swing and the school work load increasing, make sure you are taking time for yourselves. It is important to recharge, still enjoying activities and being with people who fill your cup  Have a great weekend and we will see you all back on Sunday evening!
