Tolcarne News

And we’re back! It’s great to have the hostel full again, with the girls straight into their busy schedules. This week has flown by, with lots of exciting things going on around Tolcarne.

On Monday night we had the Year 9 family dinner. This was a huge success, with over 50 parents coming along to share dinner and getting to know each other better. Ross served a chicken fricassee with a pastry puff (very popular) and the forever loved sticky date pudding.

Over two nights we had our first pinboard competition, where the girls decorated and individualised their own pinboards. It has made all of the rooms more colourful and personal to each girl.

On Wednesday night we had our annual decorating of the doors for hostel tours. There were mountains of coloured paper, printing lines crowding every inch of the office and lollies absolutely everywhere! It was a great night for the girls to prepare something they were proud of and create letters for the Year 8 students visiting. The doors were incredible, with themes of 'the cinema', Disney and even the jungle - take a look at some of the creations below. We hope everyone enjoyed taking a look around Tolcarne, it was lovely to see so many new, smiley faces!

Excitement levels have been high at breakfast, with the introduction of the sushi lunch option! This week we have seen lots of rice ball and sushi creations, with the girls making the most of the fresh vegetables and meat from the poke bowl station

We have a busy week ahead for the senior girls and their social calendars! Some of our girls have been preparing for the John McGlashan formal on Saturday night, and we have seen last minute rushes to find dresses and heels for our St Hilda's formal next week! With the addition of hostel spray tans and the famous nail bar/nibbles evening, it will be all go!

Have a wonderful weekend
