Board of Trustees

It's spring, we have daylight saving and we've come to the end of a somewhat disjointed and challenging term! Needless to say, I imagine that for students, staff and families alike, the next two weeks will come as a welcome break to recharge and enjoy a little downtime. Although for most of the school community the learning environment in Level 4 was nothing new, it was still an environment that was not easy for many families. I am sure that our senior school students will especially welcome this break as they complete a week of benchmark exams, just one element of the school timetable that had to be rearranged and compressed into what was left of the term once we moved into Level 2.

As families will be aware from the school newsletters and email updates, various events on the school calendar, whether sporting or cultural, have had to be either postponed or cancelled due to the restrictions imposed at Levels 2,3 & 4. This is of course very frustrating and disappointing for many and unfortunately these possible disruptions may well continue through Term 4. Please rest assured that the School tries its utmost to ensure that each school event is held (Government restrictions permitting) and held in a way that is as close as it can be to its intended format. That said, a short Term 4, NCEA exams and venue restrictions amongst other things mean that changes may be forced upon us. That said, I would rather be here than living under the tighter restrictions in our biggest city.

On the building front, the Chapel/Whitby project is now due to go to tender in early November with the aim of receiving some initial costings by the end of the month.

Hoping for some good weather over the next two weeks. If that doesn't happen, the new Bond movie comes out on the 8th..!
