St Hilda's Collegiate School

Tēnā koutou

It has been a busy week which began with welcoming Columba, Carighead, St Margaret's and Rangi Ruru to Summer Quad. Two days of competition was held over four sports with all schools finding some success. The overall winner was St Margaret's. We look forward to all meeting again in Timaru for the Winter Quad.

As a school we farewelled Judith Turner on Wednesday. With her departure there will be some role changes within the staff. Mrs Brigitte Bradfield will be the head of the Social Sciences department, Mrs Chris Gabbusch will be in charge of Learning Support and Ms Cassandra Pickering will be the Year 10 Dean. Ms Adelle Shea will join our staff to teach Social Studies, Geography and History. We wish Judith all the best in her new job and thank her for her long service.

It was lovely to be back at the Wanaka show this year and meet with students who are considering coming to St Hilda's as well as catch up with a number of old girls.

It has been good to have the first session of the online Learning Conversations. They are a critical link in our feedback to whanau and important that our akonga have reflected and are involved in discussions around their goals and learning for the year.

We finished our week with Academic Blues Award Assembly where we acknowledged some excellent results from 2022 NCEA.

I wish you all a restful break over the coming long weekend.
