2022 Year 10 Speech Competition Participants by Isla Huffadine

Year 10 Speech Competition

This week we had the annual Year 10 Speech Competition with participants from across the three classes. All participants should be proud of what they have achieved. All presented strongly, and with well thought out and engaging topics, meaning our judges had a tough time making a decision around placegetters. In the end the following students were our placegetters;

  1. Megha Senthilkumar - The challenges experienced by women of colour in New Zealand.

  2. Lola Castles - Issues with the New Zealand justice system

  3. = Stella Dinnen - The voting age should be lowered to 16, and Paxton Francis - NZ sign language should be taught in schools
