The Dunedin Performing Arts Competition Society (DPACs), held their 120th Junior Vocal singing competition a few weeks ago. This is the longest continual running competition in the country. There were some great results particularly in the Senior Section 16-18 years. The Cleveland Award and Aparima award are prestigious regional awards so very impressive to place.

Well done and congratulations to the following students:

Amelie Warlow Y12:

  • Winner of the Cleveland Contemporary Award 16-18 years
  • Winner of the Artistry & Musicality Award 16-18 years
  • Runner up in the Regent Theatre Classical Recital Class Award (ODT Cup) 16-18 years
  • 3rd in the Aparima Classical Award 16-18 years
  • 3rd in the Musical Theatre Recital Award
  • 2nd National Song 16-18 years
  • 2nd Popular Song 16-18 years

Evie Rose Grace Y12:

  • 2nd in Test Song 16-18 Years
  • 2nd in Vocal Solo 16-18 years
  • 3rd in Musical Theatre Recital Award 16-18 years
  • 3rd in National Song 16-18 years
  • 3rd in Sacred Song 16-18 years

Gabrielle Chisholm:

  • 3rd in Popular Song 14-16 years
  • 3rd in Musical Theatre Song 14-16 years
  • 2nd in Cleveland Contemporary Award 14-16 years

Megha Senthilkumar:

  • 1st in Song with own Accompanist 14-16 years

We also have some place-getters in the Stills Photography competition which is great. Stills is a student photography competition for photographers, digital storytellers and creatives nationwide. Congratulations to these junior and senior students who have been recognised for their creativity and storytelling through the following Stills awards.
