Week 7 is complete! It seems like the term is flying by, with daily hostel life as busy as ever

Last Friday evening the junior girls headed to the bowls club, enjoying a games evening with John McGlashan. There were plenty of games, including darts, pool and of course bowls! The group had a great time, with a Greer even shooting a bullseye  They finished the night with a hot supper provided by the club.

During the weekend, a large group of our girls were involved in the Otago Secondary Schools Netball Championships. All four St Hilda's teams made the finals, with the Senior A & B taking out the overall win for their categories. Well done to the 10A & 9A for placing second. What an incredible weekend for St Hilda's netball - go girls!

On Monday evening we had our Tribe Dinner, with the addition of a line dancing challenge. The Tribe Leaders took charge, choreographing routines for their groups to perform. Judge Georgia and Ross awarded Baxter the overall win  It was great to see such enthusiasm and energy from the girls!

Tuesdays after school activity was an outing to Timezone, where we all turned into competitive gamers! Everyone wanted to win the most tickets, chocolate treats and of course bragging rights  The trip finished with a frozen coke and ice cream - wahoo such fun on a Tuesday

Year 9 and 10 Koru this week had a focus on team work, failure and success. The girls were in groups, each facing the 'Traffic Jam' challenge. This game involved lots of thinking and creativity, trying to get their team from one end of the 'road' to the other, without facing a 'jam'! At the end of the session half of the groups had succeeded, others did not quite figure out the pattern - leading on to the topic of failure and success. We touched on emotions around these ideas, looking to expand on this in the upcoming weeks

The Tolcarne Council met this week, which consists of two student representatives from each year level. The reps have been gathering feedback on catering, covering breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, dinner, supper and brunch. Anna Perkins attended this session on behalf of the 'Parent Food Focus group'.

Our activity this weekend is a trip to the Escape Room! This is a challenging task that many of the girls may not have attempted before. A lot of team work is involved, trying to figure out codes and piece together clues to escape! We look forward to hearing how they get on

With the winter weather creeping in, so is cold and flu season. To prevent any sickness, make sure you are all getting enough sleep, taking any vitamins you may have, keeping warm (especially at sport) and looking after yourself  Along with fueling your body and drinking plenty of water, you will be doing your best to keep away any potential bugs!
