Sings Hilda Performs at The Big Sing!

On Monday, Sings Hilda represented St Hilda’s Collegiate School at The Big Sing Regional Choir Competition at the Dunedin Town Hall. Sings Hilda were among 17 choirs from 13 Otago and South Canterbury schools to take part in the regional competition.

Sings Hilda sang “The Lord’s Prayer” by New Zealand composer, David N. Childs, “Beau Soir” arranged by Linda S. Spevacek, and “Psalm VIII” composed by Ken Berg. A special thanks goes to Mr Ben Madden, our Choir Director, for the time and effort put into rehearsals to support our choir to perform at a high level.

The standard of the 17 choirs competing at this year’s Big Sing was high, making it tight competition between the choirs. We were proud to see Sings Hilda gain a Commended Award at the end of the evening. Well done to all involved!
