What to do when stuck at home
Each week I have been putting up the Hybrid Learning sheet on our Google Classroom site. This contains our Basic Facts, Problem Solving, Pr1me Math's and Writing for the week. The idea of this is to help your child stay up to date with their learning whilst they are at home and make the transition back to the classroom as seamless as possible.
The Hard Packs are full of entertaining activities to occupy the minds and hours of your child but with only loose ties to our in-class curriculum. I try very hard to ensure the activities are interesting, entertaining and at your child's level. I am happy to update these as needed and any completed work can be photographed/scanned and sent to me.
Seesaw has all sorts of entertaining games and activities for brain-breaks and consolidation of new learning. I will add to these as time goes on and most will have a link to current learning or be for review of past learning to consolidate and refresh prior learning.
Please ensure your child is reading something every day. Ideally, a novel (age and reading level appropriate) is preferred but I am always happy to recommend titles for the more discerning/fussy/reluctant readers to try. Have a chat with them about their story and ask some questions about the characters, the storyline, the setting, the plot and whether they are enjoying it. If it is a Non-Fiction text, ask them what new information they have learned, What first sparked their interest in the topic and what they might be interested in learning next.
Any questions or concerns, please feel free to email me as I am only too happy to help.
