Waiata and Kapa Haka at Matariki Celebration

Belinda Mackean —

We can't wait to see all the various rōpū and tamariki perform on stage at this year's Matariki Celebration.

This year we have many tamariki from our Kāhui schools performing live.  They have been practising their waiata, haka, poi and pūkana to show their whānau, kaiako and friends on Wednesday 28 June.

Performances start at 5.30pm with Stoke School, Enner Glynn and Birchwood performing in the first block.  There will also be a video performance shared from Nurture at Home early childhood educators.

After a break you will see Tāhunanui Primary, Nelson Christian Academy and Nayland Primary.  Following a second break you will see Broadgreen Intermediate, a waiata from Nayland College Choir and a performance by Pūaha Te Tai from Nayland College.

It will be a great opportunity to see and celebrate the wonderful Te Ao Māori mahi our tamariki are involved in throughout our Kāhui.
