Kāhui Ako Curriculum Pathways On Track
Naku te rourou nau te rourou ka ora ai te iwi – with your basket and my basket the people will live.
Thanks to the combined mahi from ASTS, Across School Curriculum group representatives and ImpactEd, the Stoke Tahunanui Kāhui Ako Curriculum Pathways for Literacy, Numeracy and Aotearoa New Zealand Histories are right on track for 2024 implementation within our kura. Our 2023 Roadmap is the perfect illustration of the journey so far and we are excited about adding the final touches to these pathways.
The pathways are informed by our Kāhui Ako data, Te Whāriki, Ngā Kawatau me ngā Tūmanakotanga o Te Tauihu, Te Mātaiaho, the “Literacy Communication & Mathematics Action Plan”, as well as the demands of the Literacy Reading and Writing, and Numeracy CAAs.
At this stage, all kura are invited to give feedback on the draft pathways. These have been shared with Across School representatives and kaiako should expect to be provided with the opportunity to view all three pathways and offer feedback via your representative before October 25th.
The pathways will be launched on Wednesday, November 8th and all schools should expect to have these packs ready to use for 2024 planning. Keep in mind, 2024 is our implementation trial period. During this time, we will be seeking feedback as to how kura have utilised the pathways as well as ideas for kāhui wide professional development opportunities that may arise as you explore each pathway.
