It has been another busy term for the Stoke Tāhunanui Kāhui Ako as we bring together schools and ECE centres in our community around common achievement challenges and goals.

After participating in Kāhui Conference and listening to Melanie Riwai-Couch, what are we now going to put in place for our learners?

Coaching is, "a one-to-one conversation that focuses on the enhancement of learning and development through increasing self-awareness and a sense of personal responsibility, where the coach facilitates the self-directed learning of the coachee through questioning, active listening, and appropriate challenge in a supportive and encouraging environment." The TV1 News 'Goodsort' this week was nominated by Karen O’Regan, the groundskeeper at Birchwood School. She wrote to Goodsorts because she wanted to talk about her mum, Tessa Hadfield.

Just being present at school has been shown to improve students' likelihood of success academically, with friends, and in their personal wellbeing.

The month of August was brimming with highlights across the whole spectrum of our Arts Department. Celebrations of students in Art, Dance, Drama and Music were plentiful and hearty.
