2025 School Board Election
The School Board will be seeking nominees for the September election.
Why join a School Board?
School Board members are active leaders in our schools. They have an important role in supporting strong professional leadership. Parents/caregivers and people in the wider community can be parent representatives. School Boards need to represent the diversity of their school communities to ensure a bright future for all our children. The school board elections are an opportunity to vote for candidates who will positively impact children’s education. We are looking for people who are willing to use their skills and experiences to benefit all students.
Calls for nominations will open on Friday, 18 July. Canterbury Education Services will be coordinating this year's election.
"Being a member of the school board has been an incredibly rewarding experience. It has given me the opportunity to support our school and community while gaining an understanding of how the education system in New Zealand operates. I’ve seen firsthand the dedication and hard work that goes into creating a positive learning environment for our students, both inside and outside the classroom.
Serving on the board allows us to influence important decisions that directly impact our students and their families. One of the highlights for me was being part of the team that approved our two magnificent new playgrounds. Hearing the excited chatter from students during our last assembly was a wonderful reminder of how these decisions shape their school experience.
If you’re passionate about our school and want to make a difference, I encourage you to consider joining the board. Your voice matters, and together, we can continue to create the best possible environment for our children to learn and grow." - Sabina Darke, School Board Member
