Jo Dobson —

The Camellias are starting to bloom.... spring is just around the corner!! We have had a busy time here at Preschool as always

The older tamariki took part in a fabulous trip to the museum last Friday, well done to everyone involved and a special thanks to our parent helpers. There is a lot of organisation and planning that goes into these trips - well done Courtney and Laura for undertaking this.

We highly value the collaboration with Swannanoa School and we have some great things planned - we are going to do a joint planting next Friday where the shelterbelt has been removed along the Atawhai boundary.

The following Friday we have been invited to participate in their Hangi, and moving forward we will be having small groups of senior students in centre on a Friday to spend some time doing activities with our tamariki - a great example of tuakana teina (the relationships between a younger and older person in a teaching and learning environment)

We are almost ready to get underway with our produce/swap stall - watch this space!

Have you read our 'Vision' lately?

Swannanoa Preschool, in partnership with our whānau and surrounding community, will work together and strive for continuous improvement to provide amazing environments, resources and teachers to ensure that all children from our diverse community are provided with the best possible start on their life journey.
We are “One centre, One team” who show through our practices a commitment to the bicultural heritage of Aotearoa New Zealand. We value children’s play as learning, and respect and honour each child’s individuality.

Our reference to One Centre, One Team is so much more than simply the team within the Preschool; it is our staff, our tamariki, our parents/whanau, the support services we use, our surrounding schools and community, it is everyone that works together to make Swannanoa Preschool the very special place it is.

Is there anything else you would like to see happening within the Centre or be a part of? Let me know....
