The Enviroschool Team have been very busy this last month.

Laura Rea-Hunt —

We hosted a North Canterbury Enviroschools Schools and Preschools hui at our beautiful centre.

The visitors were thoroughly impressed with the work we have achieved so far in striving for the highest Enviroschool's award of green/gold.  They were also impressed with our beautiful centre and our amazing outdoor area.

We are very excited to have organised complimentary wet bags for all the tamariki at Swannanoa Preschool.  This is to support our drive to achieve sustainable practices and replace plastic bags for wet play clothes.

These next few months the Enviroschool Team will be running some Professional Development for the kaiako to support their learning journey.  We are very excited to announce that Canon has offered to recycle our printer cartridges from all centre printers instead of ending up in landfill.

Atawhai is looking forward to a new worm farm as our old one was broken over the Summer holidays.

Please come and support or visit our communal garden.  We are happy to have the tamariki and kaiako show you around or you can assist us in planting, maintaining and harvesting it.

On April 23rd and 24th we will be doing some Earth Day activities with our tamariki.  Please follow the Enviroschools link to see how you can get involved at home or in the community.
