Whakanui & Puawai News

Dani Davidson —

We have had a lovely start to the year and can’t believe Term 1 is already over!

We have just finished evaluating our group planning for term 1 and feel really happy with the positive learning outcomes the tamariki have experienced. We are currently gathering some data to help us plan for a new group learning focus which we will share with you in our next newsletter.  Ka kite ano to Tyler and Tobias who have transitioned into Manaaki this week! We are excited to see them flourish and learn in their new environment. We also have a number of children transitioning into Puawai at the moment and some new families due to start in both areas soon. Nau mai haere mai, a very warm welcome to all of you!

We hope you are enjoying seeing seesaw photos and stories being posted. As teachers we love sharing these photos with you and really enjoying reading your comments and suggestions. This supports us to include your perspective in your child’s journal which is really important to us. We also welcome you to take your child’s journal home anytime.

Can you help? Do you have any spare clothes at home that you could donate us for children aged 0-2? We would really appreciate these as our stocks are running low.  We would also appreciate any child car seats that you no longer use, which are still in warranty.

We are looking forward to another busy month and continuing to provide an engaging learning environment for our youngest tamariki here at Swannanoa.

Huge congratulations to Ashlee and Shane who eloped on Easter Thursday.  Wishing you all the best for your married life guys!
