Kia ora e te Whānau!!

We were very lucky to be able to have Huhana Carter, Lecturer at UC come to our recent staff meeting to provide us with some Professional Development.  The kaupapa was based around Maori ancestral stories and nga atua/the guardians.  We all thoroughly enjoyed Huhana's wonderful delivery which has initiated lots of discussions and fresh new learning experiences.  If you and your whanau are keen to learn more, the children's book 'In the Beginning' is a great resource, available for purchase in the recent issue of Scholastics.  This book talks about Rangi nui, Papatuanuku and their tamariki. 

A huge nga mihi nui to Swannanoa school for inviting us to their hangi.  We enjoyed some waiata before watching them pull the hangi up.  It was so delicious the children got seconds.

We have a whanui hui coming up on Thursday 19th September.
