News from Atawhai

We have had some hot days at preschool lately, so have been making the most of lots of water play. The children have enjoyed making rivers in the sandpit, playing with water in the troughs and jumping through the sprinkler on the grass.

We have noticed lots of children building on friendships and relationships at preschool. They are learning about how to establish friendships and the ways that they can contribute to group activities.  The children are also showing an interest in caring for the environment. They are doing this by helping in the gardens, clean and look after our resources.  These are two areas that we will be focusing on in Atawhai for our planning. We look forward to seeing the children learning and having fun in these areas.  I wonder if any of the children are doing these things at home?

As always, if you have any questions please do not hesitate to talk to one of the teachers.
