Almost 1000 students entered Tahuna Normal Intermediate on Wednesday and Thursday ready to Jam it out with the Ukulele Jam Band!

During the term 36 schools including a group from Tahuna have been practising a range of ukulele music from The Cup Song to I'm a Believer to music from other countries such as La' Aute. 

The children were entertained by Alison Caldwell and Ruth Buchanan, along with a band from Activate music and Dave Waddell and Anthony Breese. The children played their ukuleles and sung the songs along with the band. 

There was also a competition for the best 2D and 3D created ukulele. The winner was chosen by Anna Grimaldi, a gold medalist in the long jump at the Rio Paralympics where she jumped 5.6 metres. 

The Ukulele group from Tahuna have been practising over the past term, learning new chords, strums and a little lead. Bring on the 2018 UKULELE JAM!!!
