Year 7 Marae Week is taking place 22-25th of November

This year our Year 7 Marae week will be featuring not only the haka competition but also a class Ki O Rahi competition. Classes have been out challenging other classes over the past few weeks. Ki O Rahi is game of strategy and skill, which the Year 7's have been quick to pick up. It will be a tough round robin competition good luck to all the Year 7's.

During Marae week the students will be looking at traditional aspects of Māori culture, we will start our week off with a powhiri and end the week with a hangi. Students will be weaving harakeke with Karyn, looking at myths and legends from around the greater Otago area, as well as focusing on aspects of Māori culture within the technology rotations.

If you have any harakeke which you would be willing to donate to our weaving module this would be greatly appreciated. Please contact your child's classroom teacher to arrange this.
