Confidence course

At camp Tirohanga the best activity out of lacrosse, puzzles, orienteering, confidence course it was definitely the confidence course. It was challenging too many people but everybody gave it a go even though they might have fallen off and some did fall off.

The fastest time was 1:20 by Ollie's dad and Preston was only 9 seconds behind him. Preston also got the furthest on the climbing wall, the climbing wall got harder and harder as you got further.

One of the activities we did at camp last week was the confidence course. There were a few things that challenged some of us. I didn’t really want to do the tight-rope as I thought it was dangerous. But I did it! One of the other activities was a giant puzzle which I found hard because every time I got five pieces in then I couldn’t fit the sixth piece. With other people’s help I managed it! Camp was amazing and I look forward to next year's camp.

Glow worms and spotlight

We were filled with excitement when we got told we were playing spotlight. But it wasn't the spotlight we knew, it was different . Instead you had to be sneaky and commando crawl to get to a bucket. You could see the bucket because it had a torch in it. While you tried to get to the bucket teachers had torches and if they flashed it at you you had to ring a bell at the hall and restart. Kids had to go to the bucket to get points and adults had to get kids out. The kids got 4 points. The kids that got the points were Preston, Preston,Paige and Kaela.

We were filled with joy but also tired. Tonight was the night to see glow worms! We waited until it was pitch black then turned on our flashlights and walked to the spot with all the glow worms. When we got there Ms Parker talked about the glow worms and said we couldn't make a noise or else they would go and hide. After she said that we then turned our flashlights off. It was really cool and a good experience. We sat there and looked at them for around 5 minutes. On the way back we saw some yabbies and Mark picked a yabby and then we got to pat it. It had a very weird shell type texture on it. When we got back we had to go to sleep.

That was Room 5’ s experience of glow worms and spot light!
