Technology Rotations

Jilena Hastings —

Each week on a Monday and Tuesday in the middle block, Room 19 goes to tech.

Design technology

On the first day of tech in hard materials we learned about all the equipment and tools that we were going to use.The next day he introduced us to make this board and it was really fun but it finished, because we didn't have enough time. But then this session we got them finished and played quite a lot of games and had fun. We are working on making planter boxes for the school.

HARD MATERIALS

Hard materials is a tech group with Mr Tait. What we are doing is making planter boxes for around the school. What we are using to make these planter boxes are metal rods, wood and brown paint. We have already started making them and hopefully we will finish soon.

Hello this is Ava McAuley and Faek Taha.

We are going to tell you what e-tech is about at Tahuna there are so many opportunities at this school. I really recommend it.

In e tech there are so many things that you can build. It is super fun and it will make your brain more creative. You can use the computer to make cool designs and the laser cutter will print it.

But you have to be careful with Mr Boyes stuff especially the laser cutter and his name is Teddy. E tech is awesome, it will make your brain strong.

Art classes in Tech

By Abi, Maddy and Jenna

At Tech we have been doing drawings and shading of weaving. We first started by drawing a square then measuring and starting to draw the first weave. We finished drawing the weaves and then we started to colour. When we were colouring we had to show that shading has shape, by curving the shading so it looked 3D. I chose pink as my colour to shade and sketch. Once we had done three of the weaves going upwards in a colour of our choice we had to do the ones going across the page with a sketch pencil. Then before we knew it we were finished and onto the next task of art.

By Maddy and Abi.

We started a project on illusions of close and far away. We first traced around a big circle. Next we got bottle caps and all different sizes. We had to do 4 different sizes of circles in different places in the big circle we traced before. We then did five thick squiggly lines randomly placed in the big circle. We then shade in the circles.
