On Thursday the 13th of June, Syndicate 1 , Room 13, 14 and 6 travelled to the museum and the physics department. The three classes rotated around 3 rotations, 2 in the physics department and one in the museum. Rm 13 started in the Physics department that had two activities, one that showed static electricity and the other making cool light patterns and colour with glass blocks and mirrors.

At the end of that session we were shown a cool device called the van der Graaf generator. A few students in the class got stand on a stool and touch it with their hand. After a few seconds their hair stood straight up and the whole class laughed.

At the other rotation, we made two kinds of planets, 1 gas planet which we made from stuffing fluff into a balloon, and one rock planet which we put rice into a balloon.

We left the physics department and ate lunch, then we walked over to the museum where we were taken to a place called Tūhura .We walked upstairs into a cool room and talked all about climate change and global warming for the first 15 minutes then we went down stairs into Tūhura. We were split into 4 groups, then we rotated around four stations. The class played with sand, and water to see how erosion and other things happen, we also looked at tornadoes while we had to answer certain questions about that topic. The last rotation was a huge whiteboard where we had to write down all the creative solutions to global warming we could think of. The whole day was really fun.
