Kōrari Collecting for Te Wiki o te Marae

Salote Rouvi —

Students from Taiopeka collect Kōrari (flower stem of the Harakeke plant) for Marae Week

A small rōpū of students from Taiopeka travelled to Brighton to collect Kōrari for Marae Week.

The students thoroughly enjoyed their trip with Mr Tait and Mr Arnold and through this experience continued to build on their knowledge and skills of Te Ao Māori.

The Kōrari will be used to construct waka in the Hard Materials room for the Year 7 Marae Week.

We look forward to seeing their wonderful creations and are very grateful to the students who collected the Kōrari.
